I have an idea for an action-Let me know what you think.

I post and share a lot about education. If my 'friends' chose to ignore it, fine. They can also choose to 'ignore' my posts completely. It is my hope that at least a few read it who might not otherwise have it brought to their attention - or that some friends share it so that a few others they know might see it ... it's about all we can hope for in a forum like FB.

I think this is a GREAT idea - and some of the reservations expressed above bring up a good point -

Part of the "action" might be to NOT post anything for a 24? 48 hour interval BEFORE the action!

karenteacher - ummmmmmmmmmmm ... In My NOT Humble Opinion, part of the badass approach is to push the discomfort zone. This "negative" "positive" thing confuses the hell out of me, and, I've been hearing since I was 8 in '68, or, before.

SADLY, too many of those labeling political speech and action with those "negative" and "positive" labels are actually enabling the work of the double speaking lackeys of the 1% !! In the Democratic Party, the supposed party of people, you have those who want FDR style "I Welcome Their Hatred" fire and passion - and then you have this HUUUUUUUUGE social cla$$ who stifle, censor and shut down the fire and brimestone cuz it ... is negative ... isn't civil ... yawn. The tension between those crowds resulted in the rise of the Democratic Leadership Council under Clinton, his policies, and then the policies of all his spawn who are in the Obama administration ... like Rahm, Arne ...

Say what you want, spend your time as you want - as far as I'm concerned the people focused on not being 'negative' have been calling the shots for decades, AND, the main result has been the 1% kicking our asses in retirement policy, in unemployment policy, in foreign adventure policy, in "health" policy ... in EDUCATION policy - all cuz a bunch of dilettantes won't call lying and thievery what it is - lying and thievery.

I think we each have to decide what we are comfortable with posting to our 'friends'. It's a personal decision .. I can see both sides .. and a part of it has to do with our 'perception' of how we use FB ... we don't all use it the same way ..

I have been posting credible links on fb since I found out about CC...at first a few of my friends were interested...then crickets...I think they tuned me out because tonight I posted something not related to cc and about 23 or so people have liked it. Before that it was maybe one or two likes on the CC topic.So I would say CAREFULLY choose a target audience that you post often to. Make lists of dis-interested friends and adjust your privacy settings accordingly. That way you can choose when to "inform" people and you won't be deleted. Because that happened too. Just a thought, you know your friends & family & what they'll put up with. But I did lose a few. FYI
