This is for every teacher who refuses to be blamed for the failure of our society to erase poverty and inequality, and refuses to accept assessments, tests and evaluations imposed by those who have contempt for real teaching and learning.

We have now gotten a US Made and Union shop to sell us BAT shirts in all designs at a low cost.
Bumper stickers are coming soon and we hope to add more shirt types (tank, polo) if there is interest in the t-shirts!
A big hello from the Capital of the Free World! My name is Nikk. Not in education, myself, but we have a bunch of family members in the industry.
A big believer in the whole "It takes a village" concept. We all need to come together and work to ensure that our next generations have all of the advantages with which we were presented, and more, rather than less. Between education, healthcare, sustenance, housing, environment, and infrastructure, we have a tough road, ahead.
So happy that we have a fully-featured BAT Cave; a huge thanks to Jim K for his efforts. We can now, better, communicate and collaborate on our primary mission, student-centric, educator-led education reform!
Also, pleased to be one of the Administrators over here. Looking forward to assisting folks and helping to ensure that everyone keeps their eyes on the prize, rather than getting tripped up and wasting time with in-fighting.

Hi neighbor. You can see who I am from my Yikes introduction here. If the DC batcave is also a human interface, I'll connect w/y'all sooner or later (I'm 50 miles out with mad domestic rsponsibilities). I'm writing because that's more important to me than strictly virtual stuff -- lots of good words and good ideas around, easy for me to link to, but I want to see what "we" do on the ground.
Sorry for the delay, things have been hectic! Between here, the main group, and normal life, time is short.
If you have not, check the 'files' section of the main BAT group and be sure to sign up for the DC BATs. We need all of the support we can find.
Have been trying to hit up a DC school union meeting, or something similar, in order to both get the word out and to let the folks there know, that we are out here. The poor DC public school teachers are so beaten down that they are completely afraid to even join up, anonymously. Hopefully, we can change that!
Looking forward to seeing you and the other BATs, more, in-person!
