We have now gotten a US Made and Union shop to sell us BAT shirts in all designs at a low cost.

We had to read an article called "Common Core Ate My Baby and Other Urban Legends." It was pretty condescending in its treatment of objections to CCSS. I'm thinking of emailing the principal (and the rest of the faculty) more substantial articles.
Then the principal went on and on with all the usual sound bytes involving competition, tests, the global economy, the job market, etc. as if the purpose of school or education is some micromanaged, market-based, Darwinian victory over others. My favorite was when she said nobody needs to know facts anymore because technology makes it so easy to simply look things up. I think I nearly had a stroke at that point.
Now we have to write personal goals and objectives about how we will implement the CCSS. I am fairly confident that most of us are already doing anything in there that is worthwhile, and have been for about 2500 years. Just because some educrats found and old, dog eared copy of Bloom's Taxonomy decades after the fact does not make it innovative.
The kicker is that this is a Catholic school. We are free to IGNORE this nincompoopery, and that would one day be to our advantage. Instead, we march after the rest of the lemmings.
We watched the same thing. I continue to be astounded by the lack of "critical thinking" exhibited by my principal, who is totally cheerleading this crap (at a parochial school, no less)!
